PhD student Anastasios Mavroudis performs chamber works by the Greek composer Sicilianos plus Bach's Chaconne, from Partita No 2
In this evening recital, PhD student Anastasios Mavroudis performs works for violin and chamber ensemble in the intimate surrounds of Deptford Town Hall's Council Chamber.

JS Bach: Chaconne, from Partita No 2 in D minor for solo violin
Y.Sicilianos: Sonata for Violin and Piano, Op 45 (with Anahit Chaushyan, piano)
Sicilianos: String Quartets Nos 2 and 4, performed by Anastasios Mavroudis & Markella Vandoros (violins), Shiry Rashkovsky (viola) and Julia Morneweg (cello)
Anastasios Mavroudis is a Greek-British violinist. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with a BMus in 2006 and an MMus in 2008 having studied with Professors Lydia Mordkovitch and Igor Petrushevski. He has also attended the Pro Corda National Chamber Music School in England and the Meadowmount School of Music in the United States, where he studied with Steven Shipps and Charles Avsharian, and has participated in Master Classes with Modest Eftinki, Zakhar Bron, Sergei Cravchenko and Peter Shepard-Skaerved.
Anastasios is a member of the Fugata Quintet and is the founder of the Tettix Ensemble, which specialises in the performance of works by 20th century Greek composers. He has given chamber music performances in Austria, Greece, Italy and the UK, and has appeared as a soloist with orchestras from Greece, Germany, Hungary and Romania, performing under the direction of conductors Saulius Sondeckis, Dinos Constantinides, and Nikos Athineos among others.
Anastasios is now in the process of completing his studies at Goldsmiths, University of London, researching chamber music by Yorgos Sicilianos, working towards a PhD. His research of contemporary Greek compositions has led to his performances being broadcast by BBC Radio 3 and the National Radio Institute of Greece. Anastasios performs on a Gennaro Gagliano violin of 1773.
