Event overview
Renegade Raconteurs PC : An evening of Political and Critical Conversation with Hannah Pool (journalist and Chair, UK Feminista) Simon Woolley (Director, Operation Black Vote) and Abdi-Aziz Sulieman (NUS National Executive).
Following the success of 'An Evening with Darcus Howe' which launched the Renegade Raconteurs series in 2013, 'PC : An evening of Political and Critical Conversation' features three of the UK’s most important black activists, commentators and writers and a student politician from the National Union of Students. Expect to listen to, and participate in discussions concerning:
Voting, Voices and Representation:
• who is, and who isn’t being heard?
• women in public life, speak up and speak out!
• General Elections, the power of “Black and Minority Ethnic” voters…
Renegade Raconteurs is a series that aims to celebrate the achievements and ideas of prominent Black British thinkers, to cross-generational public audiences, Goldsmiths students and staff, so that heritage is handed on. This event is supported by: the Departments of Theatre and Performance; Media and Communications; the Research Unit in Governance and Democracy.
Refreshments at 6.30 for 7pm start.
