The Goldsmiths Sinfonia, conducted by Ian Gardiner, will perform a programme of North and South American music, centred around a vibraphone concerto played by Rosie Bergonzi, music graduate from last year now studying at the Guildhall.
A great opportunity to hear the Goldsmiths Sinfonia perform in the fantastic surroundings of the Great Hall in our Richard Hoggart Building.
Programme to include:
Ney Rosauro: Concerto for Vibraphone (with Rosie Bergonzi, soloist)
Samuel Barber: 1st Essay for Orchestra
Colin McPhee: Tabuh-Tabuhan
Plus tangos by Astor Piazzolla, arr. Gardiner
About Goldsmiths Sinfonia
Goldsmiths Sinfonia has gained a reputation for the quality of their performances under the direction of professional conductors. Our policy of promoting twentieth-century and contemporary music has entailed many premières of works by living composers such as Nicola Lefanu, Giles Swayne, Edwin Roxburgh, Edward Gregson and Sadie Harrison.
