Pianist Vanesa Santanach is currently studying a Master of Performance at the Royal College of Music. She acomplished her initial training in the Conservatori de Barcelona before completing postgraduate studies at MusicaStudio in Barcelona and at Goldsmiths’ College, University of London. She has been supported by Àrea de Creació Acústica, Fidelio and Centro de Estudios Pianísticos scholarships.
Vanesa has performed as a soloist and as a chamber musician in Spain, France, Germany and the UK, in venues such as l’Arsenal in Metz, London’s Senate House, Deptford Hall in London, l’Ateneu de Barcelona and the Teatre Principal de Palma de Mallorca. She has also performed in festivals including Encontre Internacional de Compositors, Cicle de Música del Segles XX-XXI, Atomino, (M)Other Russia Festival, PureGold Festival and Soundings Festival.
Vanesa explores contemporary works as well as traditional repertoire. She worked with several ensembles including Martinu Ensemble, ACA Jove Ensemble Contemporània, Goldsmith Contemporary Ensemble and Variable Geometry under the baton of distinguished conductors such as Armando Merino, Gerard Pastor, Andrés Gomis and Alexander Ivashkin. Vanesa has collaborated with composers such as Vladimir Tarnopolski, Ivan Fedele, José Manuel López-López, Santiago Díaz-Fischer and Javier Martín, and she is particularly keen on collaborating with emerging composers and premiering new works.
Hosted by the Department of Music at Goldsmiths, this series of concerts gives students and professional musicians an opportunity to perform their work in the grand surroundings of Deptford Town Hall. The performance is open to all staff and students at Goldsmiths, as well as members of the public.
