An informal concert to celebrate the life of Alexander (Sasha) Ivashkin, to include Schubert’s sublime String Quintet
Alexander (Sasha) Ivashkin was a vital member of the Goldsmiths community. This evening event brings together his friends and colleagues in a celebratory concert of his life. Bring a bottle (of vodka!) and come and celebrate his legacy.
Performers for this evening's concert are: Elena Artamonova, Nicholas Walker, Devorina Gamalova, Viktoria Zora, Yoshinory Hayashi, Rebecca Turner and Imogen Burman
Music for this concert includes Schubert's String Quintet, Alexander Grechaninov's Sonata No. 1 for viola and piano in B flat major, op. 161, plus works written for Sasha by Dmitri Smirnov and Elena Firsova.
