'Romance Sentimentale' - multimedia programme inspired by Eisenstein and Kirsanoff.
Prior to his afternoon masterclass, pianist Svetozar Ivanov and Bliss Kohlmyer present Romance Sentimentale - a multimedia programme inspired by Sergei Eisenstein's 1930 film "Romance Sentimentale" and Dimitri Kirsanoff's 1929 film "Brumes D' Autumne" - Music by Berio, Scriabin, Schoenberg, Ustvolskaya, and Crumb.
Svetozar Ivanov is Associate Professor of Piano at University of South Florida, serves as Artist Faculty at Brancaleoni Music Festival in Italy, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival in Vermont, International Keyboard Odyssiad and Festival in Colorado, and is the Artistic Director of the Steinway Piano Series in Florida.
Bliss Kohlmyer is the co-artistic director of project agora, a San Francisco based organization that presents evenings of collaborative and interdisciplinary work. Her company has received numerous grants and commissions. Bliss is an Assistant Professor of Dance at The University of South Florida.
