The Department of Music welcomes pianist Svetozar Ivanov to Goldsmiths to give this afternoon's masterclass.
All are welcome to attend this piano masterclass, featuring the students from the BMus Music Programme. With students Martha Williams and Tulin Demirci, plus others from the course. Although active participation in the class involves final year BMus Music and MMus students only, this is an open class and anyone is welcome to attend and listen.
Svetozar Ivanov is Associate Professor of Piano at University of South Florida, serves as Artist Faculty at Brancaleoni Music Festival in Italy, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival in Vermont, International Keyboard Odyssiad and Festival in Colorado, and is the Artistic Director of the Steinway Piano Series in Florida. Recently Ivanov commissioned and premiered “Trio Concerto for piano, violin, cello and orchestra” by Victor Chouchkov with the Sofia Philharmonic in Bulgaria. He also recorded the concerto with the National Radio Orchestra. Ivanov is a graduate of the Bulgarian National Conservatory and holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from University of Michigan. His major teachers are Snejana Barova and Arthur Greene.
