First weekend workshop of two offering an introduction to Body Mind Centering work.

The development of movement patterns from birth through the first year of life lay the groundwork for our future movement and perceptual abilities. Using Body-Mind Centering principles, the developmental process will be explored and embodied through a series of developmental movement patterns and structured improvisations. The developmental patterns can be widely applied to dance movement and body-mind disciplines including Dance Movement Therapy, and form the basis for personal movement practice.

Sharna Travers Smith, the tutor, is a founding member and certified teacher of BMC. She trained in Laban Movement Analysis and contemporary and new dance forms and has taught and integrated approach to dance improvisation and BMC in USA and Europe for 25 years.
