Event overview
A panel discussion of the ways that (nation-state) borders address bodies drawing in particular on transnational feminist and postcolonial/ decolonial scholarship.
The panel will consider the question of borders and embodiment. Panelists will discuss post and decolonial approaches, draw on transnational feminist and 'trans(gender) politics,' engage critically with theories of the body through the concept of somatechnologies, consider how borders and invisible walls come up in transnational black queer and feminist archival encounters.
The panel will be chaired by Dr Leila Whitley (Konstanz, CFR) and includes: Chandra Frank (Goldsmiths), Dr. Goldie Osuri (Warwick) and Dr. Alyosxa Tudor (SOAS/LSE).
