Event overview
Pianist Andrew Zolinsky performs Morton Feldman's “For Bunita Marcus”. Bring a cushion and mellow out to Feldman!
In what would've been Morton Feldman’s 90th year, 20th-century specialist Andrew Zolinsky performs this 75 minute work. Composed in 1985 and dedicated to the former pupil with whom he had worked closely for seven years, this piece has become one of the most frequently recorded of all his works. The piece is recognisably late Feldman, with its array of tiny ideas, sometimes just a three-note motif, woven into a musical canvas of potentially vast extent.
Pianist Andrew Zolinsky is one of the most distinctive musical voices of his generation. His unique style of programming and his individual interpretations have secured performances at many prestigious venues and festivals. His work with living composers brings a vivid freshness, energy and passion to his interpretations of music from previous eras. Andrew is Professor of piano at the Royal College of Music and at Goldsmiths, University of London.
