Dr Marl'ene Edwin

Marl'ene Edwin has a PhD in English titled Orality in the Body of the Archive: Memorialising Representations of Creole Language and Culture in the Technologised Word. As Deputy Director of the Centre for Caribbean and Diaspora Studies she is currently engaged in research in creolistics and oral literature. In 2009 she was awarded an AHRC student-led initiaitive for a project entitled Words from Other Worlds: Critical Perspectives on Imoinda. She also holds an MA in Caribbean Literature and Creole Poetics from Goldsmiths, University of London and a Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Practice (Higher Education Administration and Management). Marl'ene has responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Centre and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.  She is also the convenor of the postgraduate module: Literature of the Caribbean and its Diasporas, teaches on the MA in Black British Literature and is the Academic Lead for the Equity Awards.
