Building on the breadth and wealth of research activity at Goldsmiths around aspects of the body, one of the initial main objectives of the Centre is to nurture synergies between colleagues working in different disciplines. During spring and summer 2013 we will run a series of events including:
Exploring the Body: Interdisciplinarity in Practice:
Exploring the Body: Interdisciplinarity in Practice will present a series of dialogues and performance-presentations, which will inaugurate the activities of Goldsmiths' Centre of the Body. True to the interdisciplinary nature of Goldsmiths, this series will focus on exploring the body through diverse approaches, bringing together scientists, artists, historians, philosophers, social scientists and others to explore how their different disciplines and practices dealing with the body can not only illuminate, but also inform each other. This timely endeavour will explore some of the most promising areas of multidisciplinary approaches dealing with the human body.
This series is supported by the Wellcome Trust.
All events take place at 6pm in the Small Cinema, Richard Hoggart Building. ( centreofthebody_WEB PDF).

Bodystorming:
Building on the breadth and wealth of research activity at Goldsmiths around aspects of the body, one of the initial main objectives of the Centre is to nurture synergies between colleagues working in different disciplines.
Bodystorming is a day of sharing of research across Goldsmiths on Saturday 9 March 2013, 10am-5pm, Small Cinema (Richard Hoggart Building). This event invites postgraduates and researching staff to share their work and ideas in very brief presentations/actions/performances. The idea is to open the door on what is actually going on here and draw researchers together in an inclusive, interdisciplinary day of exchange and interaction. Contributors will present 10 minutes (maximum) on their research or a short performance/action. To find out more contact centreofthebody@gold.ac.uk
