My research interests reside in health data analytics and machine learning / optimization.
I am a Lecturer in Computer Science in the Department of Computing.
I obtained my PhD in computational optimisation (Operations Research) in 2014 in Greece, co-advised by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Prof. John N. Tsitsiklis). Prior to that, I have been an MRC Early Career Research Fellow with the School of Public Health at Imperial College London (2021-2022), and a post-doctoral research associate also at University College London (2016-2018) and University of Oxford (2018-2021).
You can access my PhD thesis here.
Academic qualifications
- PhD in Applied Computer Science 2014
Research interests
My research interests reside in the development and application of novel machine learning algorithms to health data and ensuring their utility and impact. I am particularly interested in cancer, asthma and sickle cell disease. My research involves the use of a multitude of the latest omics data available (genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics) and clinical data collected by hospitals/clinical trials.
