Professor Frances Corner OBE

Vice-Chancellor

Professor Corner OBE is the first woman to lead Goldsmiths. With over 30 years’ experience in higher education leadership, she was previously Head of London College of Fashion and Pro Vice-Chancellor at UAL. 

Tom Sleigh

Chair of Goldsmiths Governing Council

Tom recently served a full term as Chair of the Barbican Arts Centre, Europe’s second largest mixed performing arts venues, which is a celebrated institution and architectural icon.

Brenda Emmanus OBE

Anchor, Day of Dialogue

 

An acclaimed broadcaster, journalist, and presenter with a distinguished career spanning television, radio, and live events. As an Arts, Culture, and Entertainment Correspondent, Brenda has worked extensively across BBC London and BBC Network News, bringing compelling cultural narratives to audiences worldwide.

Professor Richard Noble

Head of Art 

Richard Noble is Professor and Head of the Art Department at Goldsmiths College. He is a political philosopher by training, who has migrated into the art world. His research is primarily focused on utopian strategies in contemporary art and their connection to the concept of utopia in philosophy and political thought.

Sir Antony Gormley RA

Artist and Alumnus

Goldsmiths alumnus, Sir Antony Gormley, is one of the world’s most acclaimed sculptors, known for his exploration of the human body’s relationship to space. His work, spanning sculpture, installations, and public art, engages deeply with themes of nature, identity, and the cosmos.

Dr Marl'Ene Edwin

Academic Lead - Equity Awards

Dr. Marl'Ene Edwin has been the Academic Lead for the Goldsmiths Equity Awards since 2022, providing comprehensive support to recipients. Describing herself as an ‘accidental academic,’ Marl’Ene began her career at Goldsmiths as an administrator in the Faculty of Arts and advanced academically by earning an MA in Caribbean Literature and Creole Poetics with distinction, followed by a PhD. Her doctoral research, titled "Orality in the Body of the Archive: Memorialising Representations of Creole Language and Culture in the Technologised Word," explores the preservation of Caribbean cultural traditions through literature.

Rachel Quick

Oak Foundation

 

Rachel joined Oak Foundation in 2014 and as Director of the Special Interest Programme, she oversees the programme and manages her own grant portfolio. The programme has an average grant-making budget of over USD 80 million and has eight staff based in the UK, Switzerland and the US.

 

Rahima Aziz BEM

Aziz Foundation

 

Rahima has been a trustee at the Aziz Foundation since 2020. As the youngest and only female member of the board, she brings the vigour and priorities of her generation. As well as acting as the public face of the Foundation, representing their work for stakeholders and community organisations, Rahima has actively expanded the vision and scope of the Foundation by immersing herself into the day-to-day work.

Annie Warburton

Goldsmiths' Company

Annie Warburton is Chief Executive and Clerk at the Goldsmiths’ Company, the first woman to hold the role in the Company’s 700-year history.  Formerly she was CEO at Cockpit – an award-winning charity and UK top 100 social enterprise – and Creative Director at the Crafts Council. In 2024, she was awarded Fellowship of the City & Guilds Institute of London in recognition of her work in craft, design, equity and inclusion. She is a council member at Creative UK.

Peter L. Kellner 

Financier and Philanthropist

Peter L. Kellner is a financier and philanthropist, whose longstanding commitment to education, conservation and the arts has left a lasting impact on institutions in both the United States and the UK. A former Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, Peter built a career in mergers and acquisitions in New York and Europe. Since his early retirement, he has been active as a Private Investor and has increasingly devoted much of his time to philanthropy, with a focus on higher education, conservation and the creative arts.

Equity Awards

The Equity Awards programme supports low-income Global Ethnic Majority (GEM) undergraduate students.

 

Migrant Futures Institute (MFI)

Officially launching in late 2025, the Migrant Futures Institute aims to reshape migration discourse through rigorous research, innovative policy solutions, and creative approaches.

 

Goldsmiths Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA)

The Goldsmiths Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA) is a free public gallery hosting world-class exhibitions by international artists.

 

Alchemy

Alchemy is a collaboration between Goldsmiths, local schools, and young people aged 14-18 who are at risk of exclusion from formal education. It offers a safe space for these youths to create music, developing a wide range of skills applicable in their personal and professional lives.

 

Forensic Architecture

Forensic Architecture is a research agency based at Goldsmiths that develops new techniques for investigating human rights violations.

 

Open Book

Founded in 2004 by Joe Baden, Open Book aims to break down barriers that discourage individuals from entering higher education, particularly those from non-traditional backgrounds such as ex-offenders, individuals with addiction or mental health issues, and carers.
