Eligibility criteria

The bursary is available for Widening Participation* students (home or international) holding an offer for MA International Retail Business, Sustainability and Technologies in the Institute for Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship (ICCE) at Goldsmiths. 

As well as the above applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria: 

  • Be a current resident, and a resident for 3 years prior to enrolment, in Lewisham or in a low participation postcode area (Young participation quintile 1 or 2 in the POLAR4 classification). You can check if your postcode is eligible by visiting the Office for Students website
  • Be care experienced (someone who has been in the care of Local Authority for a period of 13 weeks or more, spanning their 16th birthday)
  • Be a student parent or carer 
  • Be a student with a learning difficulty, health problem or disability in receipt of Disabled Students’ Allowance
  • Be a student identifying as Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic 
  • Be a student from Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Communities 
  • Have refugee status in the UK, or have an active application for asylum in the UK (you will be required to provide documentation to demonstrate your status) 

*The term ‘Widening Participation’ includes students from certain backgrounds who are typically underrepresented in Higher Education.

Selection process

To apply, you will need to write a 250-word piece on the impact you want to achieve after having completed your degree.

The best three applicants will be shortlisted and shared with Saltee, who will have a representative on the selection board.

The bursary will be awarded at the beginning of the Autumn term (September 2023).
