4.3 Progression
4.3.1
Students will be required to attend the induction programme and to attend and pass any required elements of the Core Qualitative and Quantitative Methods modules.
4.3.2
Students’ progression is monitored annually by academic departments, overseen by the Graduate School, through the consideration of an Annual Progress Report.
4.3.3
The Special Academic Review (SAR) Procedure should be used to support and retain students demonstrating unsatisfactory academic performance and/or attendance. The SAR Procedure does not apply in cases of academic failure or other external requirements, such as fitness to practise, identified in the programme specification and/or Code of Practice.
4.3.4
All students are initially registered for an MPhil degree. They are required to pass a formal upgrade assessment to progress from MPhil to PhD mode of study.
