Award-winning journalist and best-selling author, Dr Gillian Tett OBE, was awarded an honorary fellowship from Goldsmiths in 2017.
Dr Gillian Tett OBE is chair of the editorial board and editor-at-large, US of the Financial Times (FT). Her previous roles at the FT include managing editor, assistant editor, capital markets editor, Tokyo bureau chief, and a reporter in Russia and Brussels.
In 2014, she was named Columnist of the Year in the British Press Awards and was the first recipient of the Royal Anthropological Institute Marsh Award. She has also won Journalist of the Year (2009) and Business Journalist of the Year (2008) in the British Press Awards, and received three awards from America's Society of Business and Economic Writers Awards.
She is a best-selling author, who's books include Fool’s Gold (2009), an analysis of the 2007-8 financial crisis, and The Silo Effect (2015), which examines the global economy and financial system through the lens of cultural anthropology.
In 2021, she released Anthro-Vision - How Anthropology Can Explain Business and Life, which was named as The Times and Financial Times Book of the Year.
