Kevin Cahill led the charity Comic Relief for more than 26 years. He was awarded an honorary fellowship from Goldsmiths in 2018.
Kevin Cahill is credited with changing the lives of millions of people across the globe, thanks to his long-standing work with Comic Relief.
He joined Comic Relief as Director of Education and Information in 1991. In 1992, he became Director of Communications, and the following year he became Deputy Director (Creative), taking creative charge of education, TV, publicity/PR and press and media.
From 1997 to 2016, Kevin was Chief Executive of the charity. During this time, he created Sport Relief and played a key role in the Make Poverty History and Live 8 campaigns. In 2017, Kevin was appointed by trustees as an Honorary Life President of Comic Relief.
He was awarded a CBE for services to charity in 2007.
He also served as Chancellor of Nottingham Trent University, stepping down from the role in 2017.
In 2018, Goldsmiths awarded Kevin Cahill an honorary fellowship in 2018.
