William Fox-Pitt is one of the most successful British event riders in equestrian sport and he was awarded an honorary fellowship in 2013.
William Fox-Pitt is one of the most successful British event riders in equestrian sport. He was the first ever British rider to become Eventing’s World Number One – a title that he has held three times now.
He has also competed and won team medals at three Olympic Games – first in Athens, then Beijing, and most recently picking up a silver medal with Zara Phillips at London 2012 in the Team Eventing.
At the European Championships, he has won six team gold medals, as well as Individual silver in 1997 and 2005, and Individual bronze in 2013. He has also won the Burghley Horse Trials a record six times (1994, 2002, 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2011). In the Queen's 2018 birthday honours he was awarded an MBE.
Fox-Pitt graduated from Goldsmiths in 1993 with a BA (Hons) in French Studies and was awarded an honorary fellowship by Goldsmiths in 2013.
