Karla has worked for over 30 years as an arts manager across theatre, live art, visual art and literature.
Karla has worked for over 30 years in a leadership capacity within creative organisations including Discover Children's Story Centre, London Bubble Theatre Company, motiroti, and Impact Consortium (based at 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning). The driving force for all these organisations, and integral to them producing compelling, exhilarating work, is that community-based practice is at the heart of everything they do. She also has experience of the internal workings of the English funding system after a brief but instructive and rewarding stint at Arts Council England. Karla has drawn on all of this practical experience to inform her many years working part-time at Goldsmiths.
Boards
Karla is a trustee on the board of Family Arts Campaign, a sector support organisation for engaging families in creativity.
