Henry's research explores the role of digital platforms in popular music cultures and the mediation of identities.
Dr Henry Morgan is a researcher and lecturer who teaches on the BA Arts Management at ICCE, convening modules focussed on audience development, digital culture and fundraising. He completed his PhD at Cardiff University in 2022, with a thesis mapping the platformisation of online music culture during the 2010s, and its impact on music as an expression of digital identity. His current research explores the ongoing algorithmic turn on platforms like TikTok, and its implications for musical discovery and cultural production. He has previously held positions at the University of Westminster and Buckinghamshire New University, where he taught on media & communications theory, digital marketing and the state of the contemporary music industry. Henry is a fellow of the Higher Education Association, gaining fellowship in 2023.
