Callum is a lecturer and researcher whose work explores diasporic media usage. His doctoral research examines the coexistence of North, South, and Joseonjok Korean diasporas in the UK, with a focus on reunification identities, postcolonialism, and boundary-making. His broader interests include the everyday construction of identity through traditional and digital media, food, and other cultural expressions.
In addition to his academic research, Callum has worked extensively in the field of North Korean human rights. He has served as a special presidential advisor to the President of Korea and has worked with various NGOs.
