From live music to lectures, and plays to poetry slams, there are countless ways that you can experience what makes Goldsmiths special and celebrate the achievements of our community. Here's our pick of eight things to do in the coming week.

Question Time being filmed at Goldsmiths in 2014

Lewisham politicians hoping to secure your vote in the General Election will be visiting the Students' Union on Wednesday. Candidates from Labour, Conservatives, Greens and the Liberal Democrats will all be appearing and you have the chance to choose what questions they'll be asked. If you can't make it, you can follow the action using the hashtag #GoldsmithsQT on Twitter.

If you haven't had your fill of politics, then read The Guardian's interview with alumnus Patrick Brill (aka the artist Bob and Roberta Smith) who's standing against Tory MP Michael Gove at the general election. His campaign centres on what he sees as the coalition’s disregard for arts education, and he's been staging 'artistic happenings' to get the voters of Surrey Heath interested.

BMus Music students Cassandra Bosdet and Nathalie Millet are performing works by Vaughan Williams, Handel and Bach at The Foundling Museum on 27 March. The lunchtime concert is free and you'll also get access to the museum.

Play: Computer games created by a machine

To celebrate #BritishScienceWeek2015 why not play a video game designed by a computer? Goldsmiths researcher Mike Cook's ANGELINA project investigates whether a computer can design a playable game populated with levels and characters, having only been given a few basic ideas about what a game contains.

Listen: Beach Baby - Ladybird

The Guardian and Q Magazine have both chosen Beach Baby’s new single as one of their top songs to hear this week. Q noted that the ‘dreamy pop quartet’ formed in the ‘musically rich halls’ of Goldsmiths, but their sound ‘could just as easily hail from the rarefied landscapes of Scandinavia’.

Crawl: Deserter's South London pub crawl/art tour

Try and keep pace with Deserter's art tour and pub crawl, which takes in some of South London's best galleries and watering holes. The website previously wrote about their favourite places in New Cross.

Visit: London Investigative Film Festival

The London Investigative Film Festival is a joint event from the Centre for Investigative Journalism (which is based at Goldsmiths) and the University of Westminster. Running between 20-22 March, the festival features some of the best investigative documentaries in the UK and internationally including several films that have never been shown in the UK. All screenings are followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers or panel discussions.

Visit: Noise colloquium

Professor Atau Tanaka from the Department of Computing is delivering a keynote speech on 22 March at The University of Greenwich's Noise colloquium. The free to attend festival, which is also running on saturday, explores noise as a concept that embraces the expressive, the idea of noise as a resistance and noise as a catalyst for creative production.
