The clocks have gone back, the nights are now longer and with the smell of bonfires on the horizon, everyone's feeling particularly autumnal.
Guy Fawkes night is the big one to look forward to this week, but we’ve also got your last minute Halloween themed fun covered. Throw in one of the UK’s biggest music awards, an opportunity to get your hands dirty and the DJ set that will get you dancing and you’ve got 7 great things to do this week.
Get: to know Bob Dylan
How much do you know about Bob Dylan? World-renowned scholar Dr. Michael Gray, the author of the first critical study of Bob Dylan’s work, is visiting Goldsmiths on Tuesday 3 November to give a lecture and Q&A. Expect film and music clips, and a drink reception at the end.

Founded by Goldsmiths Alumna, Kanya King, this year’s award ceremony marks the Mobo’s 20th anniversary. Tune into ITV2 on Wednesday 4 November to watch live performances from some of the biggest artists in the UK.

Panicking about Halloween tomorrow because you’ve left everything far too late? Did you know that we have an allotment here at Goldsmiths? Getting your hands dirty in the garden has been scientifically proven to relieve stress, so if you’re feeling tense or just fancy growing your own fruit and veg, roll up your sleeves and get involved.
Hit: the dance floor at the Amersham’s Movement Party
The London Southbank DJ’s are making a return to the Amersham Arms to provide the soundtrack to your Guy Fawkes Night. If you’re into “house and various other forms of electronic music, with a sprinkling of hip-hop and RnB", this New Cross takeover is not to be missed!
Dare: to watch one student's horror film debut
If it gets to Monday evening and you don’t feel like you’ve had your fix of spooks, frights and dread over the Halloween weekend, head over to BBC 3’s 'The Fear' at 10pm for the debut of ‘The Breakdown,’ a short horror film written and directed by Media and Communications student Mohammad Khan Rabbani.
Watch: the Blackheath fireworks display
Make the most of one of the few free fireworks events in the area and make your way down to Blackheath on Saturday 7 November for your dose of Guy Fawkes entertainment. Food stalls and a bar will run from 5pm, and the fireworks kick off at 8pm.
