Try: an authentic Turkish meal

Beating the Ritz for customer satisfaction on Trip Advisor, Meze Mangal offers affordable authentic Turkish meals served in a friendly environment. The space was refurbished this year, but what hasn’t changed is their delicious menu: the best mezzes in South London.
Watch: the sunset over the City of London

With one of the best views of London’s skyline, Greenwich Park is just a short bus ride away from campus. Part of the Royal Parks of London, the space offers a great opportunity to see London from a different perspective while you enjoy some fresh air. Make sure you check out the Royal Observatory and the Meridian Line when you visit.
Find: bargain treasures at Deptford Market
You never know what you might find at Deptford Market, so if you’re in the mood for a treasure hunt, make your way to Deptford High Street on a Wednesday, Friday or Saturday. With student friendly prices for almost every item you could possibly think of, it’s no wonder the market is so popular.
Become: a local at the South London Gallery
The South London Gallery is one of London’s best contemporary art venues and hosts at least 10 shows by British and international artists every year. The gallery also offers regular workshops, talks and film screenings, all of which are free to the public. If you’re feeling peckish, stop by the gallery’s cafe No67 for coffee and cake - Time Out has rated it ‘impressive on all fronts’.
Get: your 5 a day at Brockley Market
If you stop by Brockley Market on a Saturday morning you will quickly understand why it’s one of our favourite places. Described by the Evening Standard as a ‘foodie delight’, the market offers the best of local seasonal produce and some beautifully crafted baked goods, so prepare to be spoilt for choice.
Go: wherever the night takes you
An all round favourite among students, the Amersham Arms is where pub meets club and comedy meets live music. Find yourself enjoying a pint with the locals or dancing into the night with your classmates!
Grab: a quick take-away

If you’re still unpacking and can’t seem to find your pots and pans yet, ordering a take away might be the best solution. Highly rated by our students as one of the best curries in New Cross, Cinnamon is just a around the corner from campus.
Lose: yourself at Bussey Building events
The multi-story events venue in Peckham is a favourite among Goldsmiths students and with its down to earth yet lively reputation, it’s no surprise at all. Whether you’re looking for live music, theatre, art or film, you will not be disappointed by what the multi-level warehouse venue has to offer.
