"The course helped me to develop an awareness and appreciation of myself as an artist and a teacher."
Main details
"I took a sabbatical year out from teaching so that I could fully immerse myself on the MA Artist Teacher programme. In this way I felt part of the Goldsmiths community. Having the use of a studio on campus allowed for greater investigations into my own work as an artist, and I had access to the wonderful library facility, as well as many other campus based facilities.
The course helped me to develop an awareness and appreciation of myself as an artist and a teacher. As well as teaching me to value myself as both that allowing both a platform in my classroom environment could enhance and improve my students and my own experience of learning.
I was introduced to educational philosophies that will stay with me as I go forward in my teaching and artistic career. The people I met who were with me on the MA were all instrumental in the way I learnt through the course. As well as enhancing the experience by creating a community of friends, colleagues and professionals that enables each member to work to the best of their ability. The tutors on the course were a part of the process of learning, pushing and creating experiences both within and outside of the classroom experience. Overall my experience at Goldsmiths has enriched my life both personally and professionally."
