Studying at Goldsmiths facilitated new ways of thinking about creative writing pedagogy: stretching the boundaries of today's curriculum.
New ways of thinking
I loved learning to 'read like a writer' on the MA Creative Writing and Education programme. The deep study of published works, interjected by ‘free writes’ and finished with writing workshops was supportive and formative for my writing practice.
In terms of teaching, the MA was an excellent CPD. Studying at Goldsmiths facilitated new ways of thinking about creative writing pedagogy: stretching the boundaries of today's curriculum and questioning possible applications in the classroom.
Informing my future
I am currently teaching English at secondary level. I write the schemes of work on creative writing throughout the school and enjoy pulling through learnings from the MA at Goldsmiths.
I also write, and following the publication of two short stories, am working on an anthology which I hope to be published in the future.
Advice for future students
