Annette has managed to combine both her BA English (also Goldsmiths) and MA Arts Administration degrees working at Spread the Word (London’s writer development agency) for five years in three different roles and as Communications Manager for the Royal Society of Literature since 2013. At the RSL she is responsible for external communications including website, social media, press, advertising, publicity, e newsletter and manages the team of Volunteers. She is a trustee of Peckham Platform, a community gallery in south London.
Annette is a playwright and has had work shown at Soho Theatre, Brockley Jack Studio, Theatre503 and The Feminist Library. She was a 2015-16 Jerwood Arvon Mentee.
During her time on the MA she particularly enjoyed her work placement with Writernet (playwright development organisation) and writing her dissertation on social class and theatre. She also liked the mix of cultural policy alongside the more practical elements and visiting a range of arts and cultural organisations to meet those who had forged a successful career in the arts.
