Dianne is now Senior Account Coordinator in Barbados-based marketing communications firm, G&A Communications Inc. She earned her first ten years of experience in the creative industries sector in the arts as dancer, choreographer and teacher. After completing the Masters programme in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy at Goldsmiths College with distinction in 2006, she was temporarily contracted to the Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus in Barbados.
There she planned and implemented programmes in music, dance, theatre and visual arts, as well as assisting with the teaching of dance in the Bachelor of Creative Arts degree. While there she also completed an experimental work Bodytalk that explores her major choreographic interest - the development of a contemporary Caribbean performance style drawing on rich traditional body talk or body language of the peoples of the region.
It was also at the EBCCI that she began to recognise the increasing need for strong marketing communications to promote and educate about the arts among various target audiences. She later completed a professional certificate in Marketing, Public Relations and Advertising with the University of the West Indies Open Campus Barbados in 2009. She now manages a portfolio of clients, ensuring that a variety of communications needs are met: from the development of special publications to print, web and out-of-home advertising and from brand development to public relations. While a majority of her work is in the corporate world she continues to play an advisory role in the arts sector.
