Originally I planned on pursuing a completely different degree, something more "reputable" purely for the sound of it. Luckily for me on results day I did well in Economics and was able to apply to Goldsmiths. The Economics department was still new, so I was a bit worried about how it would be. The head of the course contacted me and we had a discussion about what I wanted to do as a degree and where my interests were. They were never pushing me to enrol at Goldsmiths, but rather helped me lay my options out and walked me through the process which really made me think, "If the head of the department was this caring not knowing if I would enrol with the university, I wonder how it would be like studying here." After visiting and seeing how the university seemed to operate I couldn't wait to start the new chapter. The atmosphere here is familiar even if its the first time you're visiting. It truly became a home away from home, and the memories I have made here I will forever cherish. I would have never thought how much growth I would be able to achieve in the three years I have been here. The confidence and courage attained from class and working as a student ambassador have really set a solid foundation for my future.
