Going into my third year, I feel confident in the skills and abilities I have developed through my time studying at Goldsmiths.
Practical courses
The Department of Media and Communications is massive with lots of resources as well as knowledgeable tutors and lecturers. The taster sessions offered allowed me to try so many aspects of media - it helped assure me that I wasn't missing out on any experiences. My favourite part of my degree has been these practical classes.
I also took a foundation year, which was the perfect option for me because the extra year really helped prepare me.
Personal and professional development
The Careers Service has been incredibly useful, I wish I had unitised it sooner. In particular, the CV check-in service really helped my professional development. The Careers Service led me to two volunteering opportunities that I love and were so easy to apply for.
I was also surprised by how much I enjoy societies, getting involved has been very rewarding.

Local amenities
I enjoy the area and how close everything is to campus. There are good food places nearby and the SU is amazing because it is so close to my first-year accommodation.
The library is an amazing space, I wish I could stay there for years and read everything. I enjoy the library most about studying at Goldsmiths.
Advice for future students
Join societies and go to events.
In your first year go and do everything. There is so much offered in terms of societies, pop-up events, and trips.
I found an amazing sense of community by getting involved in my second year with tennis and the anime and gaming society, I wish I had done it earlier.
