Main details
Dubstep, R&B, funky, house and UK garage singer Katy released her first single with the label Rinse in 2010, the same year she completed her degree at Goldsmiths.
The Peckham born singer has always taken influence from her South-East London roots, and in particular its strong rave and pirate radio scenes, which she was able to remain close to as she studied in New Cross.
After finishing her studies, she was nominated for the 2011 Mercury Prize for her debut album 'On A Mission' and has continually won critical and commercial acclaim throughout her career. Her 2014 follow up 'Little Red' went to number one on the week of its release and was reviewed by Clash magazine as "the album that should rightly see Katy B cement her ascent to the stratosphere, joining the rest of dance music's glitterati."
