I genuinely believe the course helped me to get where I am now, and I feel so grateful and happy for the opportunity.
An individual approach
I studied BA Curating under the great leadership of Dr Janna Graham. What I really liked was the way the programme shaped my peers and me – both as professionals and as creative individuals beyond the academic environment.
I loved that we were just a small group of around 10-15 people, so there was a lot of space for individual approach. I always felt seen and listened to. The atmosphere we created was one of safety and care.
A variety of modules
Goldsmiths was outstanding in the variety of optional modules in very specific topics. They offered an insightful deep dive into the examined subjects. It is something I haven’t encountered elsewhere in academia.
All the lecturers have been friendly, encouraging, and knowledgeable of their topics. I really hold a special place in my heart for my time spent within the Department of Visual Cultures. If I could, I would definitely do it again.
Life after Goldsmiths
After graduating from Goldsmiths, I continued with my studies in arts management at King’s College London and the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.
Now, I work as a PR manager at Prague City Gallery and a freelance curator of fine arts, as well as an art critic for various online and print platforms.
Many people have been very impressed when hearing about Goldsmiths. I genuinely believe the course helped me to get where I am now, and I feel so grateful and happy for the opportunity.
A lively city with a student-friendly area
I love that there is always something to do in London. Even though living here can be expensive, there’s still some free activities, like going to galleries or exploring the local neighbourhoods.
I have lived in New Cross for most of my time at Goldsmiths and I loved it, it had great student vibes.
Advice for future students
Get involved in different societies, make friends, grab all the opportunities that come your way. Try to keep your personal and academic life in balance.
