My tutors consistently encouraged me to lead my own initiatives both within and beyond university walls.

A supportive environment

My favourite aspect of the BA Curating degree was the support I received in exploring my creativity and working styles over the course of three years. My tutors consistently encouraged me to lead my own initiatives both within and beyond university walls.

Practical experience

I particularly enjoyed running the Visual Cultures Society for two years, which culminated in curating my first exhibition at London’s Deptford Does Art, alongside my coursemates from the BA Curating programme.

I valued the opportunity for a creative placement at Goldsmiths CCA, allowing me to blend academic and practical 'on-the-job' learning.

I also had an opportunity to study across two departments, enabling me to bring back the experiences I gained to my home department, and enhancing my overall learning experience.

Creative community

Goldsmiths is close to a vibrant network of independent creative hubs, galleries, venues, and artists' studios. This proximity allowed me to visit and engage with these spaces, creating opportunities for connections and collaborations.

Being part of a dynamic creative student community and having access to resources like Goldsmiths CCA allowed me to continuously engage in in artistic and cultural activities. These interactions all allowed me to find the way for unique creative projects and professional growth.

Life after Goldsmiths

After completing my BA Curating at Goldsmiths, I have continued my education by completing a Masters in Arts & Cultural Management.

I am currently participating in a graduate scheme at Wellcome Trust, rotating through the Marketing & Communications for Wellcome Collection, Strategy, Funding and Creative and Cultural Advocacy teams. I particularly value the opportunity to explore new career pathways and develop a diverse portfolio of skills and interests.

Advice for future students

I would encourage new students to continuously broaden your interests and seek collaborations with students from various departments.

Don't hesitate to try new things, and never consider any experience or project as useless. You never know how it might benefit you in the future or be applicable in another field you wish to work in.
