Applying to MA-level Social Work CPD pathways
Support with applying for MA-level Social Work CPD pathways including setting up a My Goldsmiths account and the application process.
If you require support with applying for our MA-level Social Work CPD pathways, please view the following guides for a step-by-step process for each stage of your application.
Before applying for your chosen MA-level Social Work CPD pathway, you will first need to create a student record account by following these steps:
Step 1
Click the apply button on the MA-level Social Work CPD (continuing professional development) modules page. Alternatively, you can begin your application here.
Select the pathway you would like to apply for. These include the following:
- CPD - Pathway Designing Learning Opportunities for Teams and Groups
- CPD - Pathway Facilitating Learning in Teams and Groups
- CPD - Pathway Peps 1: Enabling the Learning of Others
- CPD - Pathway PEPS 1 and 2
- CPD - Pathway PEPS 2: Assessing and Teaching the Adult Professional Learning
- CPD - Pathway Professional Supervision And Practice Assessment
- CPD - Pathway Reflective Practice Within And Across Organisations
- CPD - Pathway Work-Based Learning Module 1
- CPD - Pathway Work-Based Learning Module 1 And 3
- CPD - Pathway Work-Based Learning Module 3
Step 2
Once you have selected your preferred pathway, you will need to choose the month and year of entry for your programme. There are two entry points for the CPD modules in each academic year – September and January. It is important that you choose the correct month and year of study, or your application may not be processed.
Step 3
You will now be asked to log into our online application system ‘My Goldsmiths’. If you are new to the My Goldsmiths system and have not studied at Goldsmiths before you will need to register for a My Goldsmiths account.
Step 4
To set up an account, you will be asked to provide your personal details, an email address and a password. For this, we recommend setting up your student record using a private email address and not a work address.
Step 5
Finally, you will be asked to read through and accept our terms and conditions. Once accepted, your account will be set up.
Please make a note of the email and password you used to set up your MyGoldsmiths account. You will need these details to log back in throughout your studies and to obtain your assessments at the end of the academic year. You can log into My Goldsmiths at any time, and you can also change your address details and other contact details if needed.
If you require further support you can view our support with your My Goldsmiths account page.
Once you have set up your My Goldsmiths account, you will be asked to submit your application. There will be a total of nine sections in the application which will require you to enter different information.
For the MA-level Social Work CPD programmes, you only need to upload your Funding Confirmation Form (Word) as part of your application. You should upload this to the ‘supporting document’ section.
We do not require the following:
- Certificates and/or qualification documents – please enter ‘please see application’ in each relevant field.
- References – we recommend that you input your own contact details for a reference request to be sent to you. References are not checked or verified when applying for the MA-level Social Work CPD pathways.
- A personal statement
After filling in each section, you are required to click to ‘save and continue’ at the bottom of each page, to ensure your responses are saved.
Once you have completed all sections of the application, you will come to section nine of nine, where you will see an overview of your application. If you are happy with what you have entered, click ‘submit application’ at the bottom and this will then generate a full application to the Goldsmiths student record system.
Please note: After you submit the application, the system will generate a student number for you. It is recommended that you make note of this student reference number in case you need to get in touch with us about your application.
It is also highly recommended that you make a note of the email and the password you used to create your My Goldsmiths account as you will need this to log back in over the course of your studies and to obtain your assessments at the end of the academic year. You can log into My Goldsmiths at any time, and you can also change your address details and other contact details if needed.
Please remember to keep a note of the username and password you used to set up your My Goldsmiths account so you can access the student portal area.
Application timeline
The central Admissions team will be processing your application (not the Department of Social, Therapeutic andCommunity Studies) and will make your formal offer on your applicant record in My Goldsmiths.
Once this has been processed, you will also be sent a formal unconditional offer by email. This process can take up to two weeks during busy periods. However, when checking for your offer, please always remember to check your junk mail and if you find that your email is in there, please ensure you update your inbox rules.
Once the email has been received, please follow the instructions and accept the offer using the links provided, without delay. It is a relatively easy process but should be dealt with as soon as possible so there are no delays to your enrolment (which is separate to the admissions process).
Once you have accepted your offer and your enrolment has been created, you will be asked to log into your My Goldsmiths account to complete your enrolment online. View our new student online enrollment guidance.
Please note that non-UK/ROI applicants will need to follow an additional process before being able to fully enrol and will be advised of which additional documents are required at the point of ID verification.
You must follow the guidance, or your full enrolment will not be processed.
Goldsmith IT account
Your Goldsmiths IT account and @gold.ac.uk email will be activated within a few days of completing online enrolment.
Your Goldsmiths IT account is different to your ‘My Goldsmiths’ account. If you forget your Goldsmiths IT account password you can either try to resolve it using the IT live chat function or visit the IT Service desk located on the first floor of the Library (Rutherford Building).
Student ID Card
Students can obtain their student ID card by visiting the Security Office which is located on the ground floor of the Richard Hoggart Building in room 198.
Please note that you will need to wait at least 48 hours to obtain an ID card from the time you are informed that you are fully enrolled.
