Art Summer School

Goldsmiths' Department of Art and The Widening Participation are running their annual summer school for students aged 16 – 18 once again this year! Taking place 28th July – 8th August 2025.

Our Art Summer School is fun and supportive 10-day course aimed to develop your creative talents, collaborate with other young people, experience art school life and build your portfolio for further study. It is completely free and open to all those studying at college or sixth form aged 16 – 18. We encourage and prioritise applicants who may be traditionally underrepresented in the Arts, including young people in the care system and Pupil Premium students. By taking part you will receive a guaranteed interview for our Fine Art programmes, should you wish to apply to Goldsmiths and meet the minimum entry criteria.

As part of the course, you can expect:

  • Your own artist studio space
  • Gallery & artist studio visits
  • Mentoring to develop your own art project
  • Creative skills workshops
  • Collaborative art making
  • Portfolio & career advice
  • Public exhibition of your work

Previous participants have said:

“I enjoyed the art school and think it was an amazing opportunity, I was able to create whatever I wanted with no restrictions, it's a great opportunity.”

“Thank you so much for this experience, it's really helped me realise what I really want to do in the future and I'm really looking forward to studying art at university.”
