Strike 2023-24 complaints

What, how and when you can make a complaint about the impact of strike action at Goldsmiths.

Primary page content

For the majority of students, it is unlikely that scheduled teaching would have been affected by the strike action observed in June 2024.

The College will therefore not be running a separate process to consider and resolve strike complaints in the academic year 2023-24.

If you have been affected by the strike action in June, you can still make a complaint through the College's normal complaints process, within three months of the impact.

What you will need to support a complaint

Complaints that request financial reimbursement for missed teaching:

  • Date and time of missed session
  • Type of session
  • Name of the module
  • Name of tutor striking
  • Evidence which demonstrates session was missed (eg emails from tutor, screenshot of post on VLE)

Complaints that request financial reimbursement for wasted costs:

  • Evidence of wasted cost (eg travel receipt)

Complaints about the impact of the strike action in June on scheduled teaching which do not satisfy the above requirements may be dismissed as invalid.
