Dual degree between Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and Goldsmiths - BSc Interactive Digital Media and Networked Arts

The Department of Computing at Goldsmiths is collaborating with Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Vilnius Tech) in Lithuania to deliver a newly designed credit recognition and dual degree for those interested in exploring study in different contexts internationally.  

You will start Year 1 and Year 2 at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University before progressing to a one-year of study at Goldsmiths. Once completed at Goldsmiths, you will return to Lithuania for your fourth and final year of the dual degree programme.

What you'll study 

This programme is meticulously structured to provide a comprehensive education in both design and programming. You will learn programming for software, web pages, and mobile applications, mastering both front-end and back-end technologies.

Your education will include a deep dive into user experience (UX) research and interactive user interface (UI) design, enabling you to create intuitive and engaging interfaces. You'll also gain proficiency in 2D/3D graphics and animation technologies, essential for cutting-edge multimedia solutions. 

You'll become skilled in audio and video signal processing, applying these techniques to enhance multimedia projects. The programme also covers the development and application of computer games, virtual worlds, and VR/AR technologies, preparing you to create immersive digital experiences. This interactive and hands-on approach ensures that you will not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also develop practical skills crucial for a successful career in multimedia design.

By the end of the programme, you will be well-equipped to create innovative multimedia solutions and contribute to the development of future technologies. 

Teaching style 

This programme is taught through scheduled learning – for example, through a mixture of lectures, seminars and workshops. You’ll also be expected to undertake a significant amount of independent study. This includes carrying out required and additional reading, preparing topics for discussion, and producing essays or project work. 

How you'll be assessed 

You’ll be assessed by a variety of methods, depending on your module choices. These may include coursework assignments such as extended essays, reports, presentations, practice-based projects or essays/logs, group projects and reflective essays, as well as seen and unseen written examinations. 

Entry requirements

To start the programme at Vilnius Tech, students must initially have satisfied Vilnius Tech’s admission criteria. 

Students who have successfully completed the first two years at Vilnius Tech can apply to study for the third year at Goldsmiths.

English language requirements

If English isn’t your first language, you will need an IELTS score (or equivalent English language qualification) of 6.0 with no element lower than 5.5 to study this programme at Goldsmiths. Annual tuition fees
