How jobs.gold.ac.uk works
The current vacancies page lists jobs in order of date published, so our newly published vacancies will always be found at the top of the current vacancies page. However, closing dates vary, so it is important to check the detail of the advert if the role interests you.
To refine your search, click on the menu icon at the top right corner of the screen and select 'Advance search'. Jobs can be refined by vacancy type (fixed-term/permanent), full-time or part-time roles, salary or by using key words.
Once you have found a vacancy that sparks your interest, it is important to ensure that you read the finer detail of the role by fully reading the advert, job description and person speciation. You can do this by clicking on the advert.
How to download the job description
In order to find out more about the role and assess whether it is for you, you will need to download and read the job description.
The key details of the role are listed at the top of each advert. Within this section, you will find a header titled ‘Documents’ where you will find the link to the job description. If you click on this link, it will automatically open up the job description.
How to decide if the job is right for you
The job description sets out the main duties and responsibilities of the role. It also includes a person specification, which details the skills and attributes required of the successful candidate. You can decide whether the role is for you by assessing the following:
- Whether your skills, knowledge, experience, and qualifications match those outlined in the person specification
- Whether the duties and responsibilities of the role are of interest to you and will compliment and/or develop skills you already possess
