Mirrors disrupt the physical space by casting back that space as a two-dimensional image. The mirror image is seen to create and disrupt our identity. The specular image also provides a metaphorical model, now contested, for philosophic inquiry. Entwined within any understanding of the mirror image is the language we use to communicate. The mirror supremely binds the image, text and identity.
Combining both sites of production; the reflecting surface and the writing table in the ‘Infinity Table' , will hopefully encourage further meditations and considerations of how these contested spaces inflect on identity formation.
